Sexual health resources
Farsi video guides to sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, HPV, chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis, herpes, genital warts, trichomoniasis and hepatitis B.

A series of short Farsi videos from Digipezeshk on sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Sexual health is rarely discussed openly in Iranian and Afghan communities, and many people do not know that STI testing and treatment in the UK is free and confidential. These videos give clear, non-judgemental information so people can recognise the signs, get tested and get treated.
Each video explains what the infection is, how it is passed on, the signs to look out for (including when there are no symptoms at all), how it is diagnosed and how it is treated or managed.
Topics in the playlist
HIV and AIDS: what they are, testing, treatment and prevention
HPV: what it is and how the Gardasil vaccine protects against it
Chlamydia: a common infection that often has no symptoms, its risks and how it is cured
Gonorrhoea: symptoms, complications and treatment
Syphilis: symptoms, diagnosis and treatment
Genital herpes: a hidden virus with no permanent cure, and how it is managed
Genital warts: signs, diagnosis and treatment
Trichomoniasis: the "silent" STI, how it is found and treated
Hepatitis B: a liver infection that can be passed on through sex, its diagnosis and treatment
All videos are in Farsi, based on NHS guidance and made through Mehr Health's PIF TICK certified production process. Anyone in the UK can visit a sexual health clinic for free, confidential testing and treatment, often without a GP referral.
